Seth's Head : Busted Open
This past Saturday, March 8, Seth Shai wrestled E.T.C.W. Heavyweight Champion Calvin Knapp at the promotion's second show, held in Terrell - Texas. That match was the main event, and was without a doubt a hard-fought contest. At one point Knapp threw Shai into numerous rows of chairs, and then followed with a chair-shot straight to Shai's noggin. Amazingly Seth Shai fought back with a chair-shot of his own against Knapp's back but, still woozy, Shai was stunned by a comeback from Knapp and promptly body-slammed through Knapp's merchandise table. As a result of that impact, Shai's head snapped back against the concrete floor and was busted open. Shai did not get back up for a while, but eventually pushed away staff trying to help, all the while leaving puddles of blood on the floor. Incredibly, Shai returned to the contest, and the bout ended in a time-limit draw with Shai on top of the Champ and pounding away at his skull! After the match Blackhart Seth Shai challenged Calvin Knapp to a rematch on April 5th, and Knapp accepted. Shai has refused stitches and all medical attention, and isn't planning to take any additional time off.

Number 426!
As some of you well know, there is a monthly magazine called Pro Wrestling Illustrated. It is arguably the most well known wrestling publication in circulation. Once a year they have a ranking of the top 500 wrestlers in the world. This includes the W.W.E., T.N.A., Japan, Mexico, and is the most prestigious, recognized, and respected list of wrestlers there is. In 2004 Seth finally achieved his goal of making the list within the first 5 years of his career, coming in at number 361. In 2005 Seth was ranked again, and even higher, at number 294. Last year Seth came in at 488. And in this year's edition, which came out yesterday on September 15th, Seth moved up 62 spots to number 426! This makes the fourth year in a row that Seth was ranked, a remarkable feat. So far we here at SethShai.com know of Texas-based wrestlers Darrin Childs, Necro Butcher, Andy Dalton, Scott Summers, Hotstuff Hernandez, and Seth's best tag team partner Mace also making the list this year. Seth felt honored to be included, and had these comments. "It is such an honor for me to be ranked four years in a row on this list. It is obvious to me that the people over at Pro Wrestling Illustrated do not just randomly throw in wrestlers to make up the rankings, but that they take much time and thought into compiling this huge annual event. They have to sort through thousands of wrestlers to do this, and for doing this they deserve much thanks and appreciation." The "PWI 500" is in the November issue of the Pro Wrestling Illustrated, and is available on newsstands now. Some likely places to locate the mag are Wal-Marts and Barnes and Noble stores, but it is also available at other scattered stores as well. So, get out there and get your copy and, support Seth Shai and the other deserving pro wrestlers!!!

Seth Ranked 4th and 17th
MySpace.com has had its first compiled listing of the top 100 Independent Wrestlers in the state of Texas. This was decided by a voting poll, and Seth Shai has come in all the way at #4 in the lists first entry! IndyWarz.com also just recently announced the results of their annual listing of the Top 100 Wrestlers in Texas ranking, where the positions are decided upon voting from the fans, wrestlers, promoters, and anyone else who wants to participate. Seth came in at 17th in that lists ranking. So thanks goes out to all of the Followers of Seth who showed their support by voting for him in both of these polls, and to Devin Storm for the MySpace 100 and Matt Avery for the IndyWarz 100 for all the effort put forth in putting together the these big lists of Texas wrestlers. Seth Relinquishes T.E.W. Title, Quits Promotion

September 16th, 2007

Seth Shai has relinquished the T.E.W. Heavyweight title and has apparently left the promotion after a disagreement with the owner. It has been cited that there was a conflict involved internally at the Gladewater, Texas-based promotion, and that it was not one that could be resolved to the point in which both Seth and the owner could be satisfied. "Basically what it comes down to is respect", Shai said in a statement, "It is not even just a matter of being unappreciated as a dedicated athlete, but of being completely disrespected by numerous parties within T.E.W. How I am supposed to have any kind of respect for those parties, the promotion itself, and even their title when I'm being given no respect myself? I, unlike a LOT of professional wrestlers, have always taken every single title I have held seriously and with honor. However, every man has his limits on what he can put up with."

Seth joined Texas Elite Wrestling in June of 2006. He quickly worked his way up the ladder and began a feud with their Heavyweight champion Kris Kitera. There feud was a lengthy one, pro-longed because of numerous no-shows and cancellations by Kitera. Shai finally took the strap in November of 2006. He promised to be a more honorable champion than Kitera had been, and held the title until May of 2007 when he was upset by Chris Preston. Shai regained the title a short time later in July, however, and was scheduled to defend his title in a handicap match against the trio of Ultimo Astro, Fantastico, and Bizzy B today.

Shai will no longer take part in that bout or the "Breaking Point" show, as Seth has apparently reached the breaking point himself. However, he made a point for certain individuals of T.E.W. to be advised that Seth Shai will indeed be around when the time and place is right, and he ended his statement with this quote from The Musketeer. "And who would be there? Not one but two of my greatest enemies, waiting for me, alongside an army of gibbering freaks".

Title Shots and Titles Lost

August 1st, 2006
Three years ago to the actual day, on August 1st of 2003, this website posted an article on this page titled "Beltless". It chronicled the details a situation at that time in which Seth Shai found himself without a single title to his name for the first time in over two years. That scenario came very close to becoming true for August 1st of 2006 as well. However, after the many pro wrestling events that Seth took part in July, the proposed "August 1st Curse" wound up an undeserving and false idea after all.

Let us go back to the first of the 2006 in January, though, to see why this proposed curse was ever given any thought in the first place. In that month of January, Seth laid claim to five different championships. Those five were the NAWA-DFW Heavyweight title, the NGW Tag Team titles, the CWA Tag Team titles, The CWP Heavyweight title, and the NWA-Southwest Tag Team titles. Now, let us see where the title reigns for those five championships have gone since for Seth Shai.

-The NAWA-DFW Heavyweight title, which Seth won from Lenny Lane, was no longer credited when the promotion was declared officially defunct in late January after a year on inactivity.
-The NGW Tag Team titles, held by Seth and Mace, were lost on June 4th. Mace walked out of the show before the title defense actually went photo by TTWdown. He was disgusted with promotion and in particular the tag team of SWAT, that him and Seth were scheduled to defend against, whom he considered unworthy. Max Muscles wound up taking Mace's place as Seth's tag team partner in the match, and it was he who wound up getting pinned giving SWAT the win and the tag titles.
-The CWA Tag Team titles, held by Seth and Mace, were stripped from the team in late July when the Christian-based promotion found the holders unworthy representatives of the religious way. Cited were the many scantily-clad women depicted on Seth's website along with reports of Mace cursing at children during a wrestling event.
-The NWA-Southwest Tag Team titles, held by Seth and Mace, were stripped from the team in May in what was officially announced as a violation of the "30 day title-defense rule". What was truly odd about all of this is that on the date The Re-Gex were stripped, May 8th, they had just defended their titles 9 days earlier in Beaumont.
-As for the CWP Heavyweight title, many an insider and fan considered Seth Shai's reign at an end when it was announced he would be defending his title in Cage Match and against two different opponents on the Summer Brutality card that took place on July 22nd, 2006. Those two opponents turned out to be Bobby 2 Badd and BA Dalton.

Next, let us review that title opportunities that Seth was given so far in the year of 2006. After January, this is what the results for the following five months looked like....

-On a NAWA show on April 23rd Seth was defeated by future Crue teammate Rexx Reed in a match for the vacant NAWA Heavyweight title.
-On a TTW show on July 1st The Re-Gex, Seth and Mace, were defeated in a Triple Threat match to determine the first TTW Tag Team champs
-On an ACW show on July 8th Seth, along with Bash and New Age Dogg, was defeated by Spoiler 2000 in a Fatal Fourway match for the ACW photo by IZWHeavyweight title.
-On a TEW show on July 9th Seth, along with Ultimo Astro, was defeated by Kris Katera in a Triple Threat match for the TEW Heavyweight title.
-And on a TWE show on July 29th Seth Shai and Rexx Reed were defeated by Hector Navarro and Skitzo in a match for the TWE Tag team Championship.

Now, before you go and lose all faith in the abilities of Seth Shai, know that the day of August the 1st has come and that he lays claim to three different championships. How is that possible, you ask, with the string of title losses and failed attempts that we just listed? Well, up next right here is where we'll list exactly how that's possible.

-In Lawton of Oklahoma on July 15th The Re-Gex, Seth and Mace, defeated Mitch Carter and Cade Sydal for the IZW Tag Team Championship.
-In Mineral Wells of Texas on July 22nd Seth Shai wound up defying the doubters and defeated Bobby 2 Badd and BA Dalton to retain the CWP Heavyweight title.
-In Gladewater of Texas on July 23rd Seth Shai won a one-day tournament, participating in four matches, to determine the first ever FOUC Heavyweight champion.

Three years ago to this actual day the article "Beltless" that was posted on this page ended with a question of "is Seth standing on his last leg"? The noting of that article being three years old and the fact that Seth has continued to wrestle nonstop ever since very simply answers that question, which is just as old, with a definite no. And as the differences of Seth's career in August of 2003 and August of 2006 have been shown in this article, not only is Seth Shai up on his legs, he's carrying multiple belts on him as well.

Scanner Part 2!

March 16th, 2006
In October 2004 us here at SethShai.com posted an article simply titled "Scanner!", and it was basically just a collection of 5 random pictures taken from the past year or so. What a great concept. We're doing it again. We were hoping to have our new scanner/printer/copier working and use it for some of the pics in this article, but for now the high-tech piece of machinery is defeating us. So we pulled back and used our old trusty scanner that worked for us last time, for at least one last time. As in that last time, no article is needed.
The 1st pic is a Seth in ring at a CWP, and the 2nd features Slash trapped in a Seth Shai figure four leglock. The 3rd pic is from a TPWA show in which Seth wrestled Slam Shady. The 4th is from another CWP show in which Seth went for a very risky legdrop off the top of a steel cage, as Paul Lewis could only watch on(with some concern?? He looks like he is preparing to catch Seth if he falls!) The 5th pic is Seth with CWP Heavyweight Championship belt. And the 6th is Seth headed toward the ring at the NWA-Wisconsin, with NWA-Texas Tag Team title in hand.
